Located on Center Street in the heart of historic Downtown Provo, this collection of properties is deeply rooted in history.
HIStoric Southworth Hall
Built in 1900 by Henry L. Southworth, this historic hall harkens to a different era, one that today, many try to replicate. However, this property is a true original. Historically known as the Southworth Block, this hall originally housed four businesses with a public hall on the second floor. Home to many businesses over the years, including the Palace Meat Market and Heindsleman's, this building was restored in 1990 by BRG and its founder, Michael S. Berntsen. Following its restoration, Southworth Hall was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Ole Joe's Cafe
...the original greasy spoon hangout.
Ole Joe's Cafe, also fondly known as Joe's Spic & Span back in the day (the building was built in 1935), was a small cornerstone in the BRG collection of properties. Small, but spry, Ole Joe served up the best greasy spoon menu on the block, in the coziest of cozy diners. Since his time, others have attempted to meet the quirk and charm of the original Spic & Span cafe.
CHANGE COMES TO OLE JOE’S.
After 80 years as a popular, hole-in-the-wall cafe, Ole Joe’s is getting a much-needed makeover. The location is currently under renovation and will open as office/retail space. Look for the location to reflect the other buildings in the BRG portfolio with restored brick walls, hardwood floors, decorative tin tile ceilings and more. Renovation of the “new” Ole Joe’s should be completed by 2020.
